Realpolitik publishes high-quality research and practitioner reflections that help scholars and policymakers understand the strategic choices shaping the contemporary world. Topics include — but are not limited to — the practice and theory of diplomacy, grand strategy, regional and great-power competition, deterrence and defence policy, intelligence studies, sanctions and economic coercion, alliance politics, peace and conflict resolution, international institutions and treaty practice, and the political economy of security.
We welcome interdisciplinary work that links rigorous methods with clear policy relevance.
