Open Access (OA) Policy
Erudexa Publishing practices immediate, publisher-mediated Open Access: every article is published open access under CC BY 4.0 on publication, with metadata and preservation deposits to support discoverability, reuse and compliance with funder mandates. Our OA approach maximizes access, enables text-and-data mining, and preserves the scholarly record via Zenodo, Internet Archive and SSRN.

Purpose & scope
This publisher-level Open Access Policy explains how Erudexa makes research openly available, the licences used, author rights for self-archiving, how archiving and DOI assignment work, and how our OA practice supports indexing, funder compliance and machine-readable discovery. The policy applies to every journal published under the Erudexa imprint.
Core OA principles
- Immediate access: Final published versions are freely available online on the article page at publication — no paywalls, no embargo.
- Maximal reuse: Articles are published under CC BY 4.0 to permit sharing, adaptation and commercial reuse with attribution.
- Durable preservation: We deposit article copies and metadata with Zenodo (DOI), Internet Archive and SSRN for long-term preservation and discoverability.
- Transparency & compliance: We provide machine-readable licence and metadata, and support authors in meeting funder and institutional OA requirements.
- Equity: APCs are modest and waivers are available to ensure authors from diverse backgrounds can publish.
Licence & rights
- Default licence: CC BY 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International). This permits copying, redistribution, adaptation and commercial reuse provided appropriate credit is given and the licence is linked.
- Author copyright: Authors retain copyright and grant Erudexa a non-exclusive right to publish and archive under CC BY 4.0.
- Changing licence: Requests for alternative licences are exceptional, must be approved before submission and may affect indexing eligibility; contact rights@erudexapublishing.com to discuss.
What we publish and what that means for reuse
- Final published version (Version of Record): Immediately available under CC BY 4.0 and deposited by the publisher in Zenodo (DOI) and other archives. This is the preferred version for citation and reuse.
- Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM) / Preprints:
- Authors may share preprints (submitted versions) anywhere (institutional repositories, preprint servers) at any time.
- Authors may also deposit the AAM (accepted manuscript) in repositories; if deposited, authors should link to the Version of Record and update metadata when published. No embargo required.
- When self-archiving, authors should include a clear statement pointing to the publisher’s Version of Record DOI once available.
- Supplementary data & code: We strongly encourage deposition of data and code in recognized repositories and clear licensing (e.g., CC0 or CC BY 4.0 for data; permissive open-source licences for code). Persistent identifiers (DOIs) for datasets/code should be included in the article metadata.
DOI minting, archiving & preservation
- DOI assignment: Erudexa mints DOIs for published articles via Zenodo. DOIs appear on the article landing page and within article metadata.
- Archiving: In addition to the Zenodo deposit, Erudexa deposits copies and metadata to Internet Archive and SSRN to ensure multiple preservation points and enhanced discoverability.
- Metadata: Machine-readable metadata (including licence fields) is attached to each deposit to facilitate harvesting by indexers and aggregators.
Text & data mining (TDM)
- Permitted under licence: CC BY 4.0 explicitly permits text and data mining for any purpose, including commercial TDM, so long as attribution and licence are respected.
- Access for researchers: We support automated harvesting and provide clear licence metadata to enable lawful TDM use. Researchers requiring bulk access for TDM should contact editorial@erudexapublishing.com for practical support.
Compliance with funder and institutional mandates
- Funder compliance: The CC BY 4.0 licence and our Zenodo DOI/archival workflow are compatible with most major funder OA mandates. Erudexa will supply authors with evidence of deposit and machine-readable licence metadata to support reporting.
- Reporting: Upon request, Erudexa can provide deposit receipts, DOIs and metadata for funder reporting and institutional records.
APCs, waivers & OA equity
- The APC of USD 200 supports immediate OA and preservation workflows. Waivers and discounts are available (see the APCs & Waiver Policy). Waiver decisions are made independently of editorial decisions to protect integrity and equity.
Indexing & discoverability
- Open licensing, immediate access, stable DOIs and machine-readable metadata accelerate indexing and harvesting by services such as DOAJ, Scopus and Web of Science. Erudexa ensures that licence information, publication dates, author metadata and DOIs are consistently embedded in article pages and deposit records.
Practical author guidance
- On submission, indicate any prior preprint posting and provide links. Preprint posting does not preclude peer review or publication with Erudexa.
- Provide repository DOIs/links for datasets and code in the manuscript and metadata.
- Use the recommended licence statement on the title page (see Copyright & Licensing page) and ensure all third-party material has permission compatible with CC BY 4.0.
- If you require evidence of deposit or a copy of the Zenodo receipt for institutional reporting, contact editorial@erudexapublishing.com.
Machine-readable OA metadata (required fields)
We attach standard machine-readable fields to each article deposit, for example:
- dc.title — article title
- dc.creator — authors and ORCID iDs
- dc.date — publication date
- dc.identifier — DOI (Zenodo)
- dc.rights — “CC BY 4.0”
- dc.rights.uri — http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
- dc.description — abstract
- dc.relation.isPartOf — journal name / ISSN
Authors must supply accurate metadata at submission to ensure correct deposits.
Exceptions & special cases
- Commissioned or sponsored content: May receive discounts or waivers; licensing remains CC BY 4.0 unless a specific, pre-agreed exception is documented.
- Legal takedown requests: Erudexa will follow legal processes where applicable; removal is exceptional and documented (see Copyright & Licensing).
- Requests to embargo: The publisher’s default is no embargo. Requests for embargoes are exceptional and must be agreed before submission; these may affect indexing and funder compliance and are discouraged.
Dispute resolution & appeals
If an author believes OA deposit, licensing or waiver handling has been incorrect, they may appeal to editorial@erudexapublishing.com. Appeals are investigated impartially and recorded; decisions and corrective actions (if any) are communicated in writing.
